Life’s a Zoo!

I love to go to the zoo. Especially the San Diego Zoo. I mean, where else can you see and learn about so many wonderful wild animals? While I would prefer they be in the wild, I understand the need for having them in zoos.
The great thing is it gives me an opportunity to photograph these amazing creatures that I would never see otherwise except on TV. It’s so exciting to take a bunch of pictures at the zoo, hoping for a great shot or two and getting them! Sometimes a photo may not be that great as a whole or the lighting may not be fantastic but that’s where I get to play. There are times where I will crop the photo down or get a little silly in PhotoShop with some effects and I wind up with some pretty fun results.
So…..here’s a photo I took on my boyfriend’s (now fiancé) and my trip to the San Diego Zoo for my birthday:

My precious Amberle,
chubby black & white tuxedo kitty
basks in the sunbeam by the window.
I look closely at her warm black fur
and see tiny rainbows glinting in the sunlight.
Who knew such beauty could be seen in such small scale?
